On #HuCardHuesday here’s “Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire”. This 1995 shoot-em-up was published by #HudsonSoft and is one of the few Arcade CD-ROM2 games. It really pushes the #NEC #PCEngine to its absolute limits.

Sapphire was one of the final games for the #PCEngine and released in limited quantities. As such it commands extraordinarily high prices in the current #Retrogaming market. Bootleg copies appeared soon after release, but even those can get quite high in price today.

On #HuCardHuesday here’s “Akumajo Dracula X: Chi no Rondo” perhaps better known as “Castlevania: Rondo of Blood”. This is a 1993 Super CD-ROM2 game by #Konami. This the only Castlevania game for the #NEC #PCEngine & is considered one of the best in the series.

On #HuCardHuesday here’s “Rayxanber III”. This is a 1992 horizontally scrolling shoot-em-up released on Super CD-ROM2 format, developed and published by Data West. While it’s a great looking and decent shooter, it’s also a little on the tough side.

On #HuCardHuesday here’s “Final Zone II”. This is a 1990 title developed by Telenet and released for #NEC #PCEngine on CD-ROM2 format. It’s a top-down view run and gun game, very similar in style to Commando or Mercs.
