Took a 5 mile hike this morning at #ClarenceFahnestockStatePark Parked at Hubbard Lodge off Rt9 Much running water; pleasant rushing streams and some trails still water covered from the record rainfall last weekend. Not too hot in the shade and surprisingly few mosquitos. An abandoned house in the woods collapsed since I saw it last fall. Had an interesting encounter this morning while walking dog in a scenic park. I stopped to enjoy the view and let Lena sniff around at the edge of a thicket. After a minute, I sensed tension on the leash and looked to see what had her interest. Was surprised to see a young fox staring out from the underbrush. I gave the leash a tug and we kept walking. I wish I had the presence to take a picture but didn't want to prolong the encounter. Ain't nature grand? #Nature #Wildlife #HudsonValleyNY

The air quality in #HudsonValleyNY is terrible this morning. Glad I got my bike ride in yesterday afternoon. While biking, a young fox emerged from the underbrush with a dead woodchuck in its jaws, stopping as I approached.I stopped and he dropped his meal and scurried off. Now theres a dead woodchuck littering the bike path. No way to to move it so I warned approaching cyclists of the obstruction. I hope the fox came back for his meal; he was so skinny he sure could have used it.

Another great dining experience at Flores Tapas Bar In #WappingersFalls NY for a late lunch. Nice selection; we liked the Bacon wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese (to die for). Croquetas are very good and loved the Gambas al Ajillo. Ended with Pear crostini. Churros with Ice Cream makes for a satisfying dessert. Tasty sangria though wish they served by the ½ and full pitcher. A sinful pleasure. One of my faves

This week’s late lunch was at #HudsonTaco in #NewburghNY. Can be busy on the weekends. 3pm is a good time during the week between lunch and dinner crowds. They have a wide selection of tequila, margaritas and beer. Super views of the #HudsonRiver and exciting to watch freight trains roll by.
