I just finished The Daughter of Doctor Moreau! This is one of those books where I have a hard time making myself start reading but once I start I don't want to stop.

I've now read all the #books in the #HugoAwards novel category.

Now on to the novellas. Unlike the novels, I've only read one of the nominated novellas (Even Though I Knew the End).

About to read "Dune" (2023), the Hugo-finalist comic book adapted from the Hugo-winning movie "Dune" (2021) which was based on the Hugo-winning novel "Dune" (1965) which was expanded from the Hugo-finalist novella "Dune World" (1963).

Calling the Chengdu location of Worldcon a "mistake" is not a useful statement. That was the result of a vote by members of the World Science Fiction Society. There is no committee or executive who picks the location. It's a vote. I'm sure the (almost all Chinese) voters for Chengdu would disagree with you that it was an error.

FYI: I was on the Bid Commitee of the competing Winnipeg, Canada bid.

I haven’t read any of the novels. Still gotta finish Nona… Gotta real all the short stories too!

However pitting Severance season 1 vs. Nope vs. Everything Everywhere for Best Dramatic Presentation is just cruel! What a choice. Not a category I usually care a lot about but last year there WERE some incredible and impressive ones.

(Perpetually salty that there STILL isn’t an audio drama category even though there’s a discussion podcast category)
