Obviously you are correct.

My issue is with the word "should". You can't "should" things into existence. The system deliberately created the current set of issues, such as burning the planet.

"Not for profit" and "charity" are tax statuses. No stock ownership, so they give themselves raises.

"The Path", I believe, is like Carl Rogers created for #humanistic therapy: model the way things "would" be (if all things were equal) as a complex structure. As in OO engineering.

<... But #UU feels a better fit for community, especially since it includes both Jewish and Humanist groups (less so in the UK, but in principle) ie it is not exclusively Christian.

I also joined the Quaker Non-Theist group.

Inclusivity and LGBTQ+ affirming us obviously very important to me too.

This article strikes me as true, though I know little yet of #Buddhism. I believe these observations, though, can be applied to nearly any #religious and existential form of seeking, as long as we're meaning the deep, #humanistic nature of those things and not the countless perversions that seem to thrive in our world today. A challenge that I find when working with individuals and families is that when you view their situation systemically it can feel overwhelming; to feel as though you will struggle to make a difference.

How does one challenge powerful oppressive systemic forces?

My current solution is to think systemically but work personally. To refuse to be complicit with the oppression perpetuated on the client(s). To walk alongside and empower them.

As a Counsellor, my fondest wish for every client I work alongside is that they will reach a point where they no longer need my support. A stage where they can continue to grow and develop under their own guidance. To me, there is no greater professional satisfaction to know that they are at a place where they can do it for themself.
