#HRC52 - the Ethiopian govt currently tries to gather a majority in the #HumanRightsCouncil to end the work of the International Commission of #HumanRights Experts on #Ethiopia (#ICHREE).

This clearly demonstrates their unwillingness to deliver #justice and #accountability for the millions of victims of systematic #HumanRights violations.

The ICHREE needs to fulfil its full mandate.

In their report to the #HumanRightsCouncil, the Group of Human Rights Experts on #Nicaragua finds that the widespread #HumanRights violations amount to #CrimesAgainstHumanity.

#HRC52 needs to extend to mandate of the Group of Experts for another two years to monitor all abuses and to collect evidence which could be used for criminal #accountability efforts in the future.

Today, the #UN #HumanRightsCouncil is debating a resolution on #Iran which would establish an international fact-finding mission. Any evidence of abuses such a body might find could later be used before national or international courts:

#Germany and #Iceland have requested a #HumanRightsCouncil #HRC Special Session on #Iran. This is supported by 42 states.
