More Minnesota #lostbones for #FossilFriday! 🦣🦥🐴🐪🦬🐟🍃 This beautiful bison partial left humerus was originally found in St. Paul ~45 feet below the surface.
It is currently housed at the Dakota County Historical Society’s Lawshe Memorial Museum

These finds are all from riverbed gravel deposits in Southern Minnesota. The area has a mix of glacial sediments crossing over Cenomanian siltstone, sandstone, and limestone. 🦥🐪🦴

It was found eroding out of the side of a small tributary about 4 feet below the soil surface – just downhill from a tee box on a local golf course. ⛳
It has since been donated to the Science Museum of Minnesota for further study.
