With just 8 hours of electricity a day, my trusty old piezoelectric #humidifier is not useful. Low tech solution to the resque - wet towel over heating battery.

So anyway our #Honeywell #humidifier (made by the same company that owns #Vicks now, but I thought it would be better quality because Honeywell seems like it would be better than Vicks) that just arrived five hours ago started leaking already.

Hard water + ultrasonic #humidifier = light mineral coating on all your surfaces.

Hoowhee, the past few weeks were rough with my #eczema .

I'm trying to see if my #humidifier is doing its job and I'm opting to get another hot water humidifier for my room. The struggle is real.

But I think I've gotten it under control. Unfortunately I had to resort to hydrocortisones for the first portion. Blargh. Anybody got any recommendations for #lotion or #soap ?

it's really cold in the PNW so indoor heated air is *REALLY* dry. I have a couple of those #ultrasonic #humidifier #diffuser thingies but stopped using them after I heard they put dangerous micro mineral particles in the air.

Does anyone know if this #danger is real? I understand the EPA hasn't said they're unsafe, but, y'know.

I have been using ultrasonic air #humidifier for several winters now. Voltage spike fried it and so I had to make do without it for several days now. My eyes are itchy, nose is dry and lips are cracking. And this is the norm for the 99% of people who do not know otherwise.

Wonder if any sneaky virus takes advantage of damaged skin parts when we all make our air desert-like every winter.

#Distilling your own water at home using a 750W distiller, at current rates in Colorado would cost a little over $.33/Gallon.
If you plan on using distilled water in a home humidifier, it is extremely cost prohibitive to do so.
The filters on a large evaporative home humidifier cost ~$25/month and can process 100 gallons without issue.
It would cost $6/day to distill 20 gallons - $180/month

Really feeling some of that early #winter dryness and head pressure going on. It's been unseasonably cold here—mid 20s Fahrenheit, which we don't usually hit until much later in the season—and the transition from the dry, cold outdoors to the dry, hot indoors has my sinuses freaking out. Catch me absolutely glued to my #humidifier for the foreseeable future.

I hope everyone in the chilly (ok, freezing) US North has their humidifier running.
