I have made it through the beigli baking without any split ones, which is unusual. Served cold, dusted with icing sugar and sliced, they contain walnut or poppyseed, depending on your preference. (Must stop typing “poopyseed”.) #baking #christmas #hungarianfood

Every year I promise myself I'll make kifli, but never get around to it- this year I'd really like to.

The Hungarian matriarchs of my family baked these in my childhood- while insisting the recipe they have is the best, the other ones "tase like sawdust" 😉. They have passed, and I never made them myself.

Anyone with a good recipe? Walnut of course, though as a child I loved lekvar the most...
