We had a small wreath laying ceremony at the Hungarian Garden here in Wellington this afternoon to mark Hungary's national day. It was the usual mixture of the older, stalwart crowd - steadily diminishing sadly - and some recent arrivals. After one or two very short speeches, we sing Hungary's National Anthem, and then mix and mingle while eating home-made pogácsa - a small scone-like biscuit.
