The first time Huo Yan sees Zheng Zhi again, after his hospital discharge and return to Nanjing, it’s in the airport. Within minutes of landing his phone is lighting up; within moments of exiting the arrivals gate he sees him.

Huo Yan doesn’t think Zheng Zhi has ever been so beautiful.

They’re both grinning; Huo Yan has to swallow back the joyful laughter bubbling up inside of him.

Then he has an armful of his boyfriend, and they’re both laughing after all.
