Back in #PuertoRico, the governor announced he's using FEMA funds to rebuild a mega church for the ultra rich that was destroyed in 2017 during #HurricaneMaria.

Also in 2017, the only hospital in #Vieques was destroyed. If people get sick, they have to get on a boat to Ceiba to get any kind of health care. Nothing has been done other than the occasional "FEMA won't give us money lol :(" bullshit article.

The original post-storm report estimated 65 fatalities. The revised report issued Wednesday dramatically increased the number of fatalities in Puerto Rico to 2,975.

I can honestly say the reason why many of us in #PuertoRico survived #HurricaneIrma and #HurricaneMaria was because of #AMradio. Cellphone signal was scarce throughout PR but those who did have it used it to call the radio stations and inform what was happening.

Heartbreaking stories, sure. But tons of people survived due to early alerts about devastating floods mentioned on the radio. It was an invaluable resource. Yet, on its way out supposedly.

So at about 2 AM on September 20, 2017, I had finished off the job queue and warned my customers it might be a while before they hear from me, because #HurricaneMaria was about to hit us. I went out into the street, where the street lights were still on but not a soul was up and about, and I had the very distinct feeling that this was the last moment of normality I'd experience for a while.

I was righter than I knew.
