@Bigsurkate "The northern closure of Highway 1 on the Big Sur coast moved four miles south today, from the Big Creek Vista Point in Monterey County at Post Mile 27.3 to Lucia at PM 23.2.

With this move of the northern closure, a roughly two-mile stretch of Hwy. 1 remains closed to through traffic."

TONIGHT: A major improvement project to resurface #Hwy1 from #PismoBeach to #Oceano will result in reversing one-way traffic control tonight and tomorrow from 8 pm to 6 am on Highway 1 from Mattie Road to Grand Avenue.

A #Hwy1 corridor project to construct north & southbound auxiliary lanes, create bus-on-shoulder improvements between the 41st Ave. & Soquel Avenue/Drive interchanges, & construct a new bicycle & pedestrian overcrossing at Chanticleer Avenue, broke ground today. #SantaCruzCounty

One-way traffic control on #Hwy1 with half hour delays from 7 am to 5 pm set for Saturday April 15, just south of the #BigSur Bakery for emergency road repairs. #Hwy1 remains open with full access to all coastal businesses for 50 miles from #Monterey to the Big Creek Vista area.

REMINDER: Street Improvement Project on #Hwy1 To Result in 24/7 Detour in #ArroyoGrande Beginning Today

UPDATE: The northern closure limit of #Hwy1 on the #BigSur coast is now at Lime Creek (PM 32.2). This is expected to continue to move south by tomorrow afternoon to the Big Creek Vista Point (PM 27). The southern closure limit remains at #RaggedPoint in #SanLuisObispoCounty.

#Hwy1 on the #BigSur coast remains closed between Deetjen’s Inn in Monterey County at PM 42.2 and Ragged Point in San Luis Obispo County. Dani Creek Slide at PM 22.6, Paul’s Slide at PM 21.7, & Gilbert’s Slide at PM 10.6 (all pictured here) are not traversable by vehicle traffic.

Travel opportunities still abound on the #BigSurCoast. Closure limits on #Hwy1 at Deetjen’s in the north and Ragged Point in the south still allow for miles-long exploration along this scenic byway. Crews continue to work 7 days a week to shrink closure limits and make repairs.
