It was the ASM Hydrasynth. Why? (I don't actually hear you ask...)
Well, it's terribly powerful and I rarely use it. Maybe I don't KNOW it well enough? What magic is lurking in those digitally aliased cracks and crevasses?
So I spent 3 weeks alone with the Hydra and this is the first thing I created with it...

Duh! So, uh here it is, if you can't be arsed programming it yourself. lol 😅

Every synth is different but, yeah, you can hold down a chord on the #Hydrasynth and have individual notes open up the filter by #PolyAT.
Obviously, once you combine that with bringing in vibrato individually, you're in solid #Vangelis territory.
BUT with the #HydrasynthDeluxe, you get 73 keys instead of the 61 of the original #CS80 ! :ablobmeltsoblove:

BUT... if my plans come together, hopefully a #DeckardsDream soon. 🙂
I can highly recommend the #Hydrasynth, it's a fantastic synth, a future classic for sure.

(funny thing, at band practice yesterday we had all eleventy dozen synths going at once and I brought in a bright FM sound over the top and J goes "that's your bloody Hydrasynth again isn't it" and I'm like yes, it loves to be centre stage using up all your frequencies I'll grant you that. It'll cut through the densest mix.

Side note: I also hate generic grid controllers but find myself lately sometimes preferring the #Hydrasynth’s poly aftertouch grid controller over the old black-and-whites on the SLmkIII

#Hydrasynth & #SquarpPyramid - a digital Synth to replace my #Blofeld and a new conductor for my studio as a replacement for my #MPC1000.
The Blo is capable of creating beautiful soundscapes but it never felt fun to program it. The MPC is a fantastic sampler & a really capable sequencer but again, sequencing with it has always been purely functional but not joy - which is why I make music in the first place.
