so I've converted all my face to face classes to hybrid flexible - students can elect to participate face to face, or on zoom, or asynchronously online, or any combo of those, whenever they want. It's great.

and I don't have to be terrified anymore of getting sick and not being able to make it to class, and everyone getting behind and it being a problem. I can get sick without bad consequences for students.

#hyflex meeting again this week. We talked about a workshop we all attended with faculty teaching hyflex courses from across the country. Some good questions to think about when teaching hyflex:

What types of students are taking these courses and why? Freshman? Seniors?What disciplines? What are the habits of mind for teaching hyflex? How do we assess instructors and learning in these courses?

I've been involved in #hyflex discussions for the past year and I'm on a committee for the university to learn more about hyflex. I'll be teaching another hyflex course next quarter. The habits of mind for teaching hyflex are evolving. I like how flexible this mode can be for, but I also want the class to have some structure so we don't feel like we're floating in space. I'm thinking about how students move in to and out of both face to face and online learning spaces and what that means.

In a #Hyflex workshop right now and I'm on a committee about what it means to teach Hyflex. So many questions and issues to discuss. Registration, advising, cost, etc. What does it mean to offer students online and face to face options they can come in and out of if they want? What is the cost difference for these courses? What is the best way to offer this type of modality?
