In Jan 1969, Andy van Dam thought it would be clever to write the first press release about the new ‘Hypertext Editing System’ on HES itself. We did so.

Two days later, the UPI wire published this. It was picked up by the New York Times and over 200 news organizations in the US and Europe.

Just sketching a lot still developing wayward bound.

I think it will be a game book but dont know how to articulate some of the differences with choose you own adventure book. Except to say stories are shapes in time and wayward bound is kind of like all the branching paths informing the individual ones. If the reader has a roll in the the game they would be the board.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of talking about hypertext with my dear colleagues David Millard, @drchargood and Mark Anderson at the University of Southampton. Heading to Southampton tomorrow to meet up with David Millard, @drchargood and Mark Anderson at the University of Southampton to discuss #hypertext and #locativeHyperfiction #research. Excited to plan my train trip from London and catch up with my colleagues!

Today I had a great meeting with Owen Davies (University of Hertfordshire) at the British Library in London. We discussed working together on the use of #hypertext for story motifs or folklore and its use in #education. We're planning a joint #research proposal—can't wait to see how this develops.
