I started using iNaturalist last year to make a project for our land, trying to ID things. Of course this meant I found new special interest taxa, and got very good at IDing some things. I started to get braver this year and ID for others. I decided to make a goal of going through the *entire* Alabama backlog of non-RG observations, all 318,840 of them to date. I just finished! With some strong ID statistics!
If you use iNaturalist, try to give back some and ID a few things for others, for every thing you upload. There are far more users than ID'ers, and even people who can sort things into general taxa is super helpful for the specialists who come through to ID.

For have a looksie at the time a few weeks ago when I found a bunch of Onion Earthball ( cepa) ! Here's one I was documenting for that *spontaneously* exploded ashy black spores all over my arm and chest (not in the face, thankfully😅).
