If you have the means, download and pay for at least some tier of @ivory for #Mastodon. Or @tootapp (though points deducted for punctuation as part of a product name). Or @icecubesapp. Or any of the other good apps out there.

Make it a contest. See which one you can pay or tip more. Continually top your last effort. Tell your friends. Tell strangers on the street. Mortgage your laptop. Become a vigilante. Steal from the rich to give to the Mastodon apps.

Soooo Automattic (WordPress) created a separate app called Jetpack? It's pitched as "a website builder powered by WordPress."

If you're unfamiliar: Jetpack has long been pitched as a plugin for WordPress, adding a variety of useful, arguably essential features.

I mean this in a genuine, non-snarky way, but: why does this exist? What's the difference from the WordPress app?

Good news, everyone! A while ago, the dev of Toot! tabled the project for other priorities. But now in this GitHub thread, they said “this explosion has changed the situation somewhat.”

Its Mac UI is cool 'n stuff, and on iOS it has a clever custom keyboard for pasting into just about any app. You should try it.
