Running a bit late on creating and recording my presentation for #iPRES2023 but not too far off now. I'm wishing I'd called it "We need to talk about documentation...". I really like how virtual speakers are asked to pre-record. I find that a lot less stressful than presenting to a live audience on the day 🙂
By the way...non-DPC members can hear all about this work the following week at #iPRES2023!
Are you even going to #ipres2023 if you haven't spent an hour pouring over the program and making a spreadsheet of what you want to attend/when you're speaking? 10 days 'til I fly out!
haven't done one of these in a while ... so on my work agenda today:
1. attend info-meeting about #vBIB where my @tibhannover colleagues inform about what the event is. my colleague @dasfrottier has been thinking about handing something #digipres related in for a while
2. check format library update on our production environment
3. organize line-up for #ipres2023 bake-off participants
It’s two weeks to #iPres2023! Anyone else alone on the evening of the 18th and would like to do dinner? Or maybe you already have plans for dinner and wouldn’t mind if I shamelessly invited myself?
on my work agenda today:
1. write presentation about "quality assurance & control" in TIB's digipres for team lead workshop of TIB's conservation&preservation team
2. work on agenda for #ipres2023 PREMIS implementation fair
3. work on data set aka pantry for #ipres2023 digital preservation bake-off (looks like we'll mostly re-use what we had last year ... maybe plus a couple of additions. suggestions welcome!!)
Do you like digipres tools? Are you attending #ipres2023 in person?
Would you consider being a Great Digital Preservation Bake-Off Juror!?
Get in touch!
my work agenda today largely consists of things i didn't get around to / finish last week. so in addition to a number of calls, i have:
- create webrecorder fyi/how-to page for TIB internal wiki
- reach out to bakers for #ipres2023 great digital preservation bake-off
- organize line-up for #PREMIS #ipres2023 implementation fair
On the agenda today:
1. starting to prepare for #ipres2023 digipres bake-off!
2. write quick @webrecorder fyi / how-to for internal TIB wiki
3. get a grip on some scheduling conflicts for next week
Ok, still struggling with where to stay for #ipres2023. Is Champagne-Urbana bikeable or am I too European? I’m looking at either something kinda affordable, but probably with a 20-30 minute commute to the conference venue OR insanely expensive but mildly walkable? Or did someone book a room for two that they want to go halfsies on? #halp
@ashley oooh, there's something i'm craving .... i should make one. and have a good one when i'll be in the US for #ipres2023
Anyone going to #ipres2023 and interested in sharing a hotel room? They’re surprisingly expensive. My plan is to arrive Monday evening and check out Friday morning.
Very cool to see an #ipres2023 Spotify playlist! There’s some great stuff on there … however … a Chicago themed Playlist without a single song by Chicago!? How did that happen? Hard to day I’m sorry. 😜
Just registred for #ipres2023 . Who else is going!?
Should we start updating the digipres bingo card?
121 attendees at the #PREMIS #DPA2022 webinar! woha! happy to see so much PREMIS love.
Also: watch this space for a call to join more PREMIS fun at the #ipres2023 PREMIS Implementation Fair!
Today's work agenda:
- meeting with PREMIS EC colleagues to prepare for July 3rd PREMIS webinar/workshop hosted by dpc (registration still possible!)
- present & discuss our experiences going through nestor seal re-certification to nestor working group certification
- research travel arrangements for #ipres2023 and hand in travel request
My work agenda for today (while travelling on a train again) has a strong #ipres2023 theme:
- reach out to #ipres2023 bake-off folks to see if that is still a thing and they're still short on volunteers
- draft further plans for #ipres2023 #PREMIS implementation fair and reach out to fellow PREMIS EC authors
- start looking into updating my own paper submission - received some very helpful pointers from the reviewers
@ashley @Thorsted Yes! I’m trying very hard to time my annual visit to my folks so I can also swing by #iPres2023, and I really hope to see lots of familiar faces!
Woohoo! Looks like the #PREMIS Implementation Fair will make it back to ipres in 2023! After a few years pause, the Implementation Fair is aimed to bring together practitioners of various use cases / archive types / size to showcase and discuss real-life PREMIS problems (and celebrate successes). More on the Implementation Fair and a call for participation coming soon! #ipres2023
In other #ipres2023 news, i want to give the organizers a huge round of applause for differentiating registration fees based on "standard" & "self-funded". I think this - alongside the great sponsorship opportunities offered by Portico, dpc et al - is an immensely important step towards making #ipres more accessible and divers. That being said, I do acknowledge that the travel cost alone (plus the fee) are still a hurdle for too many. But it's a start.
