He's also god of doors, gates, corridors and passages, hence a person who is 'steward of corridors', so to speak, is a #janitor.

Ianus was often invoked at the beginning of proceedings in ancient #Rome, whether it be a legal or political matter, a religious festival or rite, a business enterprise or a personal undertaking.
