The big #hamradio #contest|s are loved for bringing traffic to our bands and fun to many shacks. But also detested when other CW and phone use of the classical bands is unceremoniously pushed aside.

Last weekend's #iaruhf competition's rule 6.3 requires participants to stick to any preferred contest frequencies regional bandplans might advise. E.g., region 1 participants must not use 14.060-14.070 MHz for CW contest participation.

But many did.

I'm curious how the #ARRL will uphold the rules.

My #iaruhf #hamradio championship participation was fun while it lasted.

In retrospect, my result is a bit disappointing: Fewer stations outside of Europe, and lower QSO rate, compared with last year.

I was rather on track to still score a good result (by my standards). But when my alarm clock rang after the two or three hours of sleep I had allotted to myself, it took me several more hours to actually wake up and become QRV again 🙄.

But it was worth it.

I did the most important part of my #iaruhf preparation: I slept in this morning, so I can get through the night with less than normal sleep! 🙂

Main antenna here. It sits 21m agl.
I added a sloping vertical dipole (top at 16m) and an elevated GP with feedpoint 6m high and two tuned elevated radials slightly sloping down (a/k/a my #pota antenna).
Three antennas fed with homebrew Stackmatch for all permutations (A, B, C, AB, AC, BC, ABC) with Arduino controller.
