What was I scanning? 📖 Three manuals for various versions of The Music Creator, an obscure algorithmic composer for the IBM PC, which has a fascinating history (see: https://breakintochat.com/blog/2022/11/29/unearthed-kirschens-music-creator-for-ibm-pc/) 🎼
My verdict on the book scanner?Disappointed. The process was pretty easy! But ... sometimes it split side-by-side pages, and sometimes it didn't; and the PDFs are softer than I expected.

I got a care package in the mail from Israel today! 📦
Among the goodies were manuals for "The Music Creator," algorithmic composing software released by Israeli cartoonist Yaakov Kirschen for the IBM PC in 1989. 💾

The better disk and serial I/O did not make up for it, nobody wanted a home machine incompatible with the cheaper but more capable #C64, and nobody took the #Plus4 seriously as a “business computer” while #IBMPC clones were coming out.
