Ever try to make faux cables from standard LEGO pieces?
Graeme Dymond did for the custom, life-size #IBM z16 model π
If you haven't seen my blog post about it yet, it's a fun one!

We know about the life-size Lego IBM z16/LinuxONE 4 (right?!). Well, I was recently clued into something very special inside the CPC drawer, and my pal @psqlctln got me some close ups.
That's cute, a tiny #IBMz16 inside! But wait, what's that red one next to it? Could it be...?
IT IS!!! There's a tiny Lego IBM System/360 in there! π #mainframe
We have a very rigorous #safety standard that we use to test #IBMz16. Our testing ensures everyone stays safe while servicing your #mainframe.
I started my #systems administration career by racking #Linux servers in data centers, closets, and janitor rooms (yep).
It's really cool to see this IG reel from @psqlctln showcasing how much care is taken in racking the #IBMz16 rack mount systems. It keeps the systems safe, and my back would have appreciated it too π

Eberhard Pasch has written a nice technical and Linux-focused π§ link & information round-up about the #IBMz16 and #LinuxONE rack-mount announcement: https://linux.mainframe.blog/z16-rack-mount/ #mainframe
I had a lot of fun putting together this blog post about the hardware of the #IBMz16 and #LinuxONE Rockhopper 4 rack-mount systems.
Thanks again to @psqlctln for getting out on the floor and snapping some great photos for us!

Thanks to the great @psqlctln I have beautiful photos for a blog post I'm publishing Monday about the new rack-mount beauties π
Also on April 17th? I'm part of the online event to talk about new members of the IBM #LinuxONE product family! https://ibm.biz/BdPpj6 #IBMz16
How do I condense a ton of documentation into a highlights reel blog post? π€βοΈ
There's no easy way, but practice helps, as the technical guides are structured in a similar way, and being excited about the super rad technology I'm writing about helps too! #IBMz16 #LinuxONE

@IBMZ The "IBM z16 A02 and IBM z16 AGZ Technical Guide" was released today along with the announcement (the rack-mount is AGZ). So you can check out some configurations, with diagrams in Appendix D β¨ https://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redpieces/abstracts/sg248952.html #IBMz16

IT'S A RACK-MOUNT #IBMz16 π€―
I told you it was going to be a super cool announcement.
Will I still call it a #mainframe if it doesn't have a factory frame? π€
Yeah, of course I will.
#IBMz16 systems are the key for organizations to deliver availability and security to their IT infrastructure and apps
If the IBM Z did not exist, customers would have to build the availability that comes automatically with IBM Z

Tuesday, April 4th, my friends! Big day!
Register to watch live at 10AM US Eastern time as #IBM unveils news about #IBMz16 technology: https://ibm.biz/BdPpjk π
I've really been geeking out internally over this, so if you're the least bit curious about #s390x tech, I highly suggest checking it out.
It's been exciting to see my work on the distributed cloud side of things sync up with my new exploration of mainframes. Today, IBM's CIO did a mythbusting blog post outlining some of how mainframes fit into the hybrid cloud work that my colleagues and I have put so much time into https://www.ibm.com/cloud/blog/myths-and-truths-in-todays-hybrid-cloud-world #IBMz16 #Mainframe #Cloud
