Look, I want #Trello *and* I want #iCal type shareable calendars, and I want them to work together. So if I create a date-timed card in a Trello-type app, I can publish it on iCal and integrate it into work Outlook, share to buddies, etc. Vice-versa: some app that looks like a calendar that, if I create an entry, it becomes a card in a Trello-type app.

But Trello has gone sideways since Atlassian took over. That's not possible any more.

Any suggestions?

Yes. I had my primary email as an alias on my iCloud account. So I guess any iCloud user inviting my email to an iCal calendar entry will route to my iCloud ical and not my external calendar. I confirmed this with my wife, her primary iCloud email is actually her gmail account. Inviting her gmail address to an iCal calendar event will route the invite to her iCloud calendar and not google calendar. Really!?!? 🤔🤦‍♂️🤨 #apple #ical #icloud #calendarinvites #wtf

Strange. I can’t figure out why when inviting my proton mail account to my daughter’s calendar entry from her iCloud account, the invite goes to my iCloud account (which is a different email address from my proton mail account) and not my proton mail account. 🤔#apple #icloud #protonmail #ical

Alright, posting an image doesn't work (yet?), but the rest does. Having a bad insomnia day but when I manage to sleep properly and can limit typos etc I'll post instructions ánd make the IFTTT applet available to everyone tomorrow 🤞🏻

In short, I use #IFTTT to connect a public #iCal calendar to #Webhooks. In order to get that to work you need the mobile app and an account (the free one's fine if you don't need to run more than 5 applets). However, all Webhooks commands can be edited in a normal desktop browser.

As there are also Google Calendar "ingredients", I assume that it's possible to create a Google-based applet.

Posts like these are done with Buffer.com, but I'd prefer to do this without an external service. Buffer is pretty limited without a paid subscription (max. 10 drafts at the time, no recurring events).

What I want is that at specified dates, a little something (text and picture with alt text) about a particular movie is posted to my Mastodon account. The same post would be repeated a calender year later.

I keep thinking that that should be possible though a connected, public #GoogleCalendar (or #iCal + #CronJob or something?), as some of my old Twitter bots posted from Google Sheets. So far, I haven't been able to find anything.

Note I’m still digital with #ical for calendar events and #Obsidian for notes. My journal is mostly to make sure I’m on point with todos and projects milestones.

Does anyone know of a simple way to display a shared #ical calendar on a website? Read-only, no fancy features, just show the calendar on a static page.

The recommended solution is to add the calendar to Google Calendar and use their embed code, but obviously we don't want to do that.
