By the way I also tried making a small program with a text box in and that triggered a horrific layout bug where the text box grew forever and slid off the screen to the right so I concluded that slint probably wasn’t ready yet and I’ll have to use some game engine or possibly .

I really, really hope the UI situation in is resolved soon.

Today I played a little bit with :
Iced has a much lower ram consumption compared to Tauri (~50MB to ~200MB), but the binary is a bit bigger (25MB to 15MB).

So out of the blue I thought to myself: Yeh, I'll develop a cross-platform UI app. Can't be that hard right? C# is pretty mature these days.....

I now understand why people flock to JS/Web technologies for this job. It's always the simple things in my mind that turn out to be super unusual edge cases for whatever framework I'm working with.

So my options are using in and possibly running into the same issue or using JS where I know it's trivially easy but I hate webdev. 🤯
