Wonderful, rare sight of a , ice halo, in the wispy, feathery, cirrus or cirrostratus clouds at the French River Delta, Georgian Bay, Ontario Canada. Beautiful brightly colored spectrum band of this optical phenomenon makes a terrific natural rainbow abstract.

I saw two solar halo phenomena in high clouds but I only managed to cap one. I think it's a 46° halo, but they're rare so maybe it's a colourless infralateral arc?
I've already capped double sundogs and a weak 22° halo this year so I'm on a roll.

Thrilled to have this sighting of an , , at the French River Delta, Key River, Canada.The bright spectrum colored band, parallel to the horizon, is a refraction of the sun on the ice crystals in the cirrus or cirrostratus clouds when the sun is at its highest which was shortly after 12:00 noon.

Faint lunar at 22:50 UT on 31st January 2023. Taken from Oxfordshire, UK with a Canon 1100D + Canon 10-18mm wide angled lens. It was only visible for a short time then the band of thin cloud moved away
