The Memories of Ice Storm 98
Awoke to the sump pump running, hot to touch and it gave up the ghost. A slippery trip to Beaver Lumber to purchase last pump on the shelf, installed in sump hole, plugged it in, pump started working and BAM power went out for 4 days. Bailing water by hand every hour for 36hr.
A roaring fire in the woodstove for heat and cooking. Filled coolers with ice and snow from yard to keep food cold.
No flooding, no damage.

@ddeptford Be extremely careful removing the ice. Do not use any sort of water to loosen it. Especially on windows. Hot water will shatter the glass. #IceStorm98 #canadianwinter
