Do you remember SUN JDS (Java Desktop System)? It was a beautifully modified version of GNOME 2. Even a Live CD based on Morphix was available.

Sadly, the internet (even archive.org) has forgotten mostly everything about it. If you still have a copy of the JDS Live CD, please contact me, and I am going to build an IceWM theme based on the design.

in the end since #LXDE in #Ubuntu has problems with #Blender, I decided to use #IceWM, it is only less than 8Mb installed use 4.5mb of RAM and which doesn't create any problems, I would say that I don't need anything else. #b3d #Linux

May I suggest #Debian if #FreeBSD does not work out?
Pretty much everything is in the repos... mednafen/mednaffe, mupen64, etc. 🙂
Also: Paired with something lightweight like #icewm or #openbox this would make a great fit 😉

Using more and more #Linux every day I learn something new, today I found that I can use a different X Manger on #LXDE that uses #OpenBox as default manger, I noticed that now I can also choose #IceWM instead of OpenBox, but I prefer OpenBox aesthetically. Anyway I wiped all every app that as the word xfce in the descriptions or name.😎

Tested now #IceWM installed it's less than 8mb on the hard disk :)
Below in the image many application running with an assembly and all app are resource consuming.

With IceWM the CPU Usage is around 2%~4% with this whole apps but it's more likely 1% most of the time. I'm running Blender FreeCAD Moi3D under WinehQ, Plasticity, FireFox and the task manger but LXDE isn't bad at all as near performance to IceWM and is more friendly.
