👏 Fotos: IDS
I really liked the #ICLC10 closing plenary yesterday by Elwys de Stefani. It contained a nice history of comparison in Interactional Linguistics, and was a good reminder to be aware and declare the activities going on in the data. His case study on guided tours showed how language is used in ways relevant to specific situations, pointing out that "everyday interaction" is unspecific, and that the activities in the datasets in different languages should also be kept comparable when comparing.
Tomorrow at 14:30 is my #ICLC10 talk - more on response tokens, now with semantic maps as the approach to action, comparing Danish and English! Hope to see you there 🥳
The #ICLC10 welcome includes statistics about the submissions - for instance the 60 % acceptance rate
