How many of those who want to create âAGI benefiting ALL of humanityâ & concerned about
âexistential risksâ were at #ICLR2023 in Kigali? We know they show up to any of the conference rotations when theyâre in their usual places with visas barring most ppl in the world. But I am blabbering on about the global apartheid system of visas that restricts the movement of non white people. Genius minds like Hinton & others canât be bothered with such minuscule issues: theyâre thinking about HUMANITY!
And that is it for #ICLR2023.
Thank you for all following this thread and attending @iclr_conf in Kigali. It was a pleasure organising this and working to make it the strongest conference it can be.

I had to travel 26 hours and spend $2000+ to join #ICLR2023 in Rwanda.
But people in Africa have to do this every time a conference is held in US.
What happens when we make it easier to participate?
1530% higher registrations from Africa.
This is important and must continue.

Take a look at these two exceptional research papers that were presented at #ICLR2023
1. "Towards Understanding Ensemble, Knowledge Distillation and Self-Distillation in Deep Learning" by Yuanzhi Li.
This research delves into how ensembles operate in deep learning and how the dark knowledge embedded in the ensemble's outputs can be utilized in distillation.

2. "Universal Few-shot Learning of Dense Prediction Tasks with Visual Token Matching" by Donggyun Kim.
This paper introduces Visual Token Matching (VTM), a few-shot learner that leverages non-parametric matching on patch-level embedded tokens of images and labels for arbitrary dense prediction tasks.
