I'll continue using BBEdit for a couple more decades, but VS Code will be a nice addition to projects.

As much as I hate web-based #IDEs, they look like a good compromise between modernising the development toolkit and providing enough flexibility to provide #SAP with a platform to move everything to their cloud, which is ultimately what they want.
Ideally, I would love an #open #development toolkit that I could use on my own machine to select between #CLI, web or GUI-based tools, backed by a local #ABAP runtime that I can use at least to run mocked unit tests, but that´s a pipe-dream.

42 followers · 461 posts · Server fosstodon.orgAre there any good, general-purpose #ides for Linux that have a congruent look with #gnome ? On KDE, Kate is perfect, but it is a bit jarring to use on a Gnome desktop.
VsCode or something heavily themeable would be fine, although of course VsCode is Microsoft, which is something I want to try and avoid.
I'm currently basically just using vim, which is awesome but sometimes you just want something with a full graphical interface.
