Also taking suggestions of super-boosters and looking at hashtags, topics I like. #Introductions is one of them. I like #idmastodon #science #sciart #art #writing #politics #history and many other topics. I learn a lot from #blackmastodon #lgbtq #autistic and many communities. We will all be more healthy when we open our eyes, learn, and work together.

@atomicpoet I think #MedMastodon #IDMastodon #Epidemiology #Microbiology #RxMastodon will also regret it. Much to build on here that IS sustainable. Much that can be done to provide good information, in anticipation of pandemics, outbreaks, etc.

Things I hope to come more prevalent in mastodon: random collaborations. Twitter has been such a great place for me to do so and I haven't closed my account for this sake.

Definitely can say that I'm super grateful for the people I have met during this PhD. I've gotten the chance to finally heal a bit. I'm glad to know what true support feels like. I do have my down days but it's definitely better than before.

1. Change needs to happen
2. Representation does help
3. To be better for students that I'm planning to take on.

So far, 3 is going really well. I definitely see growth in those that I'm mentoring and it makes up for my experience in this PhD.

As a first gen in a lot of ways, I've realized that social media has opened a lot of opportunities for first generation researchers to be able to advance themselves as they're looking forward. So if you have the opportunity to, include some people online, you'll never know what happens.
