Anyone doing the #IFS Immersion course thru #PESI? Starting the recorded training today.
My favorite simple intro to the concepts is the "Parts Work: An Illustrated Guide to Your Inner Life" book by Tom Holmes, PhD & Laurie Holmes, MSW, as well as the Inner Active Cards. Of course the "No Bad Parts" by Richard Schwartz is a must but when explaining to clients the illustrated tools are very useful.

Today was the 2nd time a client asked to hug me as they left my office. The 1st time I wasn't prepared & they did it before I answered. W/ this client I said I'd prefer a handshake. We've started deconstructing their erotic #transference. I understand the way their #attachment wounds are showing up. They've had so little love in their life. Thankfully it's turned productive instead of interfering w/their capacity to do the work. I'm studying #somatic #IFS & apparently 1/

These cards are still my favorite entrance into #IFS work.
When people are given permission to have compassion and understand the unmet need a firefighter part is trying to meet, they see their addiction or depression or anxiety in a new way that brings relief. And these images really provide an entrance to their unconscious. #ILovePsychology

After the annual #Sporteignungsprüfung, the #IfS traditionally hosted the Summerparty where institute employees, as well as current and prospective studensts enjoyed food, drinks, live music, and of course, the highlight of the evening: the #Fachschaft vs employee football match! (Somehow, we employees forgot who won the game...)

Whew! Any other therapists using IFS out there? I've had some really beautiful sessions recently spent with clients' higher selves comforting their younger selves, and befriending their protectors. It's sometimes as close to a spiritual experience as I have now that I'm not religious (agnostic/ atheist). This work is an honor. I am truly in awe of the human spirit, resilience and innate wisdom when we really sit with and listen.

Ja, der #VfS ist wieder mal arg spät dran und ohnehin halt eben der VfS, schon klar, müssen wir gar nicht drüber diskutieren.
Trotz alledem halte ich das für eine gute Nachricht, weil es in vielen Bereichen die alltägliche Arbeit vor Ort deutlich erleichtern wird (wer schon mal mit dem Ordnungsamt Bad Irgendwo oder dem Bürgermeister von Hintertupfingen verhandelt hat, weiß, was ich meine).
