One more thing about that #IFTTT integration I made for sending #PlayStation videos on #YouTube automatically to #Mastodon: I put a specific hashtag into the spoiler description so that people can filter those posts. If you don't want to see them, just block the #PlayStationVideos tag and you'll be spared!

Next in our continuing series -- “DIY Fedi #IFTTT WTF OMG BBQ?" -- is a way to cross-post videos from the PlayStation service into #Mastodon automatically. But surely #Sony doesn't support that yet, correct? Just #TwiX?

It doesn't... directly. It DOES support posting to #YouTube, though!

All that's needed is a Pro+ account and a smattering of filter code written in #JavaScript (ES5, to be precise). Then, just upload a video from your #PS5 to YT with #PlayStation in the description.

Success! I created an #IFTTT integration using Webhooks, #WordPress, and #Mastodon to notify folks when I make a new blog post. Is it complicated? Well... kinda. Does it work? Yes. And now I don't have to worry about keeping a plugin up to date.

I think I'm just about done with the "Share on Mastodon" plugin for #WordPress. It never behaves as I expect, and even when it does work, there seems to be a LONG delay between submission and cross-posting. I might whip up something in #IFTTT the way I did for #Untappd.

Working with that plugin is really stressing me out. I'd rather do manual repairs on the Hubble Telescope. (Maybe. It's just a couple of lenses in a tube, right?)

I am using #IFTTT for now and trying to figure out how to build a such structure using the #GoogleCloud. Archiving my instant and useless thoughts is quite a charming idea to keep me believing I am doing something valuable.

I'm considering using #IFTTT to #transfer micro #blog #posts into my #Wordpress. Well, I will have the raw data in #GoogleDrive #GoogleDocument first though. Is IFTTT the best option (and offering broad options) or is there any other recommendation?

@tchambers @matt For years I’ve had an #IFTTT automation that logs my tweets and Instagram posts to a DayOne journal, a Google sheet, and saved the photos to a Dropbox folder. All of these are backed up locally as simple html/csv/jpg files respectively.

I’ve never trusted online stuff to remain online.

I just want an easy way to forward messages from a #Telegram channel to a #Discord channel, but in a way that an image is actually embedded in Discord as visible image and not just as a Link that, for whatever reason, is not shown as embedded image.

But I'm obviously too dumb to get that working with IFTTT, and their error messages aren't helpful at all.

I can't be the first person with that use-case, right!?

I cannot find a single solitary use for my #ifttt pro service. I should've invested in #zapier , or #pipedream.

I wrote to IFTTT asking when they would support Mastodon. I expected the standard, canned, “We’ll consider it.” Instead:

“We are actually planning to release a Mastodon service on IFTTT very soon, within a week or two!”

Can’t wait. First applet I’ll make is Flickr → Mastodon.

Ok, I know I’m very late to the party, but #TIL that #Zapier doesn't yet work with Apple Calendar, but #IFTTT is happy to sync your Apple Calendar events to Google.

My particular use case is to block time on my work calendar anytime I schedule a personal event (or when someone else schedules it via #Calendly).
