So I made a Ditty Bag. Always wanted to so now I have.

Slider made from a 5 lead 4 bight turks head knot. Once drawn up it's coated in shellac to keep it firm. Slides up and down the 6 strands of the handle to open and close the bag.

So I made a Ditty Bag. Always wanted to so now I have.

Each of the 6 grommets has a cord eye spliced through it. Splices are finished with a crowned Matthew Walker knot.

Top of the handle is a Matthew Walker, 6 strand sennet then a diamond knot.

Made extensive use of my Swedish fid to get the the eye splices tied. Working in 1mm flax was fiddly.

Making progress on my first Ditty Bag. All seams are stitched, grommets have been added. Now working on the lanyard. While not the worst Matthew Walker knot I've ever tied, it is only the third, so quite pleased with the outcome.

Very happy with the lanyard cord as well. I made 3x3m lengths hard laid from 3 strands of 1mm flax. Turns out that it's nice to work with.
