Have to do some custom plumbing to finish the bathroom vanity project. The drain for the new sink doesn't line up with the pipe that connects to the trap. I got one universal adapter at Lowe's but it doesn't work so I'm heading back to Lowe's to get a different one to try. #IHatePlumbing

Spent the day battling with plumbing installed 20+ years ago. Have swapped the kitchen mixer (despite initially having a leak, tracing the source, rectifying the bugger), but am not celebrating until a week of use - then I can unclench my glutes! I am not a plumber and I pity those who are!!!

I honestly didn't really want to replace the toilet today. After all, I've been putting this task off successfully for almost a year now.

But when the shutoff valve snapped off as I gently turned it to make sure it still works (it doesn't), in preparation for the eventuality of the toilet replacement, the once avoidable task moved straight up the list to "today" status. Especially as water started dripping from the newly broken valve.

And so begins the first of likely many trips to the home improvement store to buy parts that will invariably be wrong, but I'll never return.
