numbers - despite reporting no longer being required from hospitals, Iowa not reporting, shows hospital admissions for to be a bit higher now than this time last year/2022, higher than June 2021.

In other words, COVID IS NOT OVER in the United States.

And with Arcturus running through other countries, obviously not elsewhere, either.

Sociopaths, closeted eugenicists, and the sheer ignorant eagerly wring than hands in anticipation for to announce "it's over!" on May 11.

The ostensible excuse, for those of the partially coherent minded, is the proverbial "but what about the economy, man!!?" - but

Mysterious supply shortages are constantly happening;

Businesses are repeatedly short handed;

People are complaining of getting ill with "not covid", incessantly;

1,400+ dying every week in the U.S. of . Which doesn't count the "not covid" fratercide not counted of the , deaths ascribed to a symptom.

On and on. But the "economy" angle is obviously nonsense - everyday we see "invisible" problems with business, in delivery problems, supply chain problems, mistakes, long standing businesses going bankrupt.

In my own business - I'm turning away almost all of my leads because of the person insisting they must take guitar lessons literally in front of me, instead of online. 30 years going away, because everyone is pretending a pandemic isn't happening, and that there is no after effects to being infected with covid.

Despite ample studies showing otherwise. I know people that are getting sick routinely; and people that aren't quite what they were cognitively, as they were a year ago.

.... and I know 10 fold more people that have heart problems, or have died of heart problems, the past 3 years than in my life. I'm not even sure if I knew of anyone with heart problems before 2020? Covid is proven to destroy cardiac tissue; but it's as if no doctors acknowledge its existence, the fact that this is true and almost everyone has been infected?

Insanity around the edges of society, infrastructure eroding, a slow motion apocalypse. My imposed hermit status remains, despite reality folding outwards into a flat plane of blithering apathy. People were not as smart as I thought they were overall, and empathy is actually a rarity.

As of April 1 Iowa is no longer reporting data to the

Yet the new weekly infections are around the same as March 2020, before the vaccines.

.. and the death rate is creeping up, again almost exactly what it was in March 2020.

It will be interesting to see what hoops are travelled through to make things look like covid is gone by May 11. I suppose more states will stop reporting, "magically". As a percentage the weekly death rate will be tricky to manipulate; I suppose it will magically disappear.

The positivity rate is really my go to now. When it trends down to <%10, that will be a good indicator, combined with the wastewater change dropping across >95% of the sites, then I'll entertain the "covid is over" narrative.

But obviously it's not. And the death rate going up is in line with immunity going away. I'd like to get another , preferably ... but that's not going to happen, is it?

Who started this trend of saying "learnings"???

I've heard this 3-4 times in the past week. You *learned* something, or there were things you *learned*, you didn't "get learnings" or "takeaway learnings".

This seems to have originated in the paddock, but I've heard Tim Scott say it, and a number of other people recently.

Geez.

"shopping" in the 70s as a little kid was no less corporate than today.

Differences:

Every item wasn't accompanied by a staged picture of The Ultimate Pretty People and Perfect Experience;

There wasn't anxiety about wondering if the item pictured has been to be a grossly different size/proportion/finish by an unscrupulous seller;

There wasn't the visual assault of foisting duplicate goods, or promoted goods, jumping in front of what is probably a better item;

You didn't have to worry about being sold an 8 year old chocolate orange on Amazon.

There was grifting, aggressive sales tactics, the outlier scam, but it wasn't effectively a virtual assault.

Yes, I'm not writing in absolutes...

I used to think as a little kid in the that I didn't like this music; it was from the ! Old music.

But it set a relaxing vibe. It made such sense in context. It's nostalgic for to me, but seriously - it made more sense. You please nobody playing a jumble of country, hip hop and pop metal to people in public when shopping! I prefer the silence you sometimes get at or . Context matters.

There was still some thought put into being considerate and thoughtful back then. It's as if little kids now control our civilization: we can't have that because it's "corny"! And we must all play war in our tactical clothing, change daily life to a harsh, combative version of reality. Being kind and courteous is not cool! Who cares about cursing? Mock everything!

We live in a 6 year old boy's depiction of How Things Should Be.

...Not that I go anywhere anymore due to , and , are long gone. I blame the starting to fail around 1977 and blue Christmas lights. *Blue* Christmas lights.....? I know has been ruined, but at least we still have lights, right....?

@kathygriffin Any day now he'll discover Ayn Rand and come back babbling about Collectivism. Selfies with McConnell, a Limbaugh reference, NRA appearance.
