I'd like to inform anyone who is using IKEA SCHOTTIS and struggling to get the blinds clipped all the way up with the supplied plastic doodads that art / drawing board clips are an excellent and aesthetically pleasing solution to this problem.

Just done the #ikeaHack #VINDRIKTNING with an esp8266 and #espHome and now it shows in my #homeAssistant

But I also added a #SCD41 co2, temperature, and humidity sensor.
They're kinda expensive but they are actually sensing co2 not just estimating it based on other readings. At least I hope so for the cost.

Will do a blog on it another day, not that this hack needs even more blogs!

Salvaging tiny wires (not just cells) from vapes is worth it for little jobs like this!

Com a chegada da nova cria, abdicámos do escritório para ser o quarto dela. Mas para certos afazeres (como produção musical) é fundamental ter um workspace fixo e pronto a usar

Uma vez ocorreu-me que um carrinho podia funcionar como standing desk móvel, e é claro que tinha de haver um carrinho da Ikea ideal para isso (modelo Bror). Durante uns meses fui experimentando com o setup das partes (corrente, hub USB, etc) e cheguei a uma configuração satisfatória

Há aqui vários pormenores relevantes mas pouco visíveis (como o gancho para segurar os cabos de alimentação). Se quiseres ver mais de perto, mete uma estrelinha neste toot para me convencer a fazer um post maior sobre isto

Here’s an update. Got the monitors up. Just have cables everywhere at the moment!

Should be able to get it mostly finished by tonight, but I’ve got some 3M double sided tape and other bits on order that I need to properly finish it.

Not too shabby for a jigsaw. A literal hack for the #Ikea #Kallax 3x4. It's cheap since the material is cheap (cardboard with actual wood on the sides to be able to grab the screws.

The part I cut is from a 2x2 Kallax though, so at least this is reversible for this one.

I finally got round to sitting down and finishing a #maker project I had to shelf months ago when i moved house.

Its a #lithophane lantern based on the paintings hanging in stretching room of the #hauntedmansion at #waltdisneyworld

It was originally a strala lamp from ikea. But i modded it, painted.it replaced.the lighting inside and am really happy with how it came out.
