Non tanto diaria: sui perché e percome degli aggiornamenti del Wok. Ovvero, perché dovrei scrivere di piú sul Wok, o almeno riportarvi tutto quello che metto su #Mastodon

Another annoying thing of #ikiwiki: tag links don't have a special class, so they can't be styled differently. Also all internal linking features don't offer a way to set the link title.
I have just tagged #release 0.28 of #vmdb2, my tool to build virtual machine images with Debian on them.
Release notes in the link below.

The home page, such as it is:

(I don't do web design. I can just about make an ugly static web site with #ikiwiki.)
Oh boy I seriously need to move on from #Ikiwiki, but I'm seriously _not_ looking forward to the amount of work that would entail and I haven't even decided what to move _to_.
looks like disabling CGI on my #ikiwiki site blew up the recent changes RSS feed: now instead of linking to the actual page modified, it links to itself, which wrecks havoc with my automation... @jmtd do you have a fix for this? :) seems like i'd need to patch recentchanges.pm :(
@carl for what it's worth, i adapted your idea to #ikiwiki https://anarc.at/blog/2023-01-19-mastodon-comments-in-ikiwiki/ comments welcome in https://kolektiva.social/@Anarcat/109718569330648379 ;)
Picking a toot: a short write-up on adding “Share to #Mastodon” links to the Wok via #tootpick
(This is also my first test to see if it works, and it seems to work so far.)

I _really_ need to convert my site to something better than #ikiwiki, that's the truth. I'm really leaning towards #jekyll with the #asciidoctor plugin, but I conversion is going to take SO much time … really not looking forward to that.
I'm working to add #Tootpick
https://github.com/Juerd/tootpick
to my website, which is statically built. I need some way to add a Tootpick link to each permalink, and I want to do it client-side via JavaScript (Tootpick needs JS anyway). So I need to add this JS to all the webpages, and I'm having #choiceParalysis on how to do it. Modify the base page template, or add a builder setup option?
(TBF, this is partially the fault of my builder, #ikiwiki, which isn't really friendly on this side of things).

Did you know that every week a new zip file containing an offline version of the permacomputing wiki is automagically generated to facilitate access from your comfy off the grid cabin in the woods?
https://permacomputing.net/cloning/
ikiwiki local html files do not play super nicely with browsers though, so I had to massage them a bit.

So, my main website is currently based on #ikiwiki. I like it because it's #plainText (no #database), I can work on it on my laptop using my favorite tools (#vim, #git), preview it locally, and then “deploy” it to a static set of HTML on the hosting machine. But there are a couple of things I do not like about my current setup. Chiefly:
1. I've matured a preference for #asciidoctor over #markdown
2. there is, AFAICS, no chance it'll ever federate w/ #ActivityPub
#activitypub #markdown #asciidoctor #git #vim #database #plaintext #ikiwiki
2. il wok voglio mantenerlo self-hosted e text-based (no database)
Mi sa che voglio l'impossibile.
