Been awhile since I was last on here, or anywhere online for that matter. It’s been all about my day job, spending time with my family, and fiction writing... rinse and repeat, lol! As for writing, I’m way behind schedule, but I’m making a lot of progress, too. I guess that’s because I’m at least editing and fixing some issues and getting the first chapter into the shape it needs to be in for the rest of the story to work out. Hopefully, I’ll have the first chapter done by the middle of March. Seems pretty feasible as I’m half-way through it. All right! Back to work on this long-long-long awaited story of mine, lol!

When I was a child, I hated reading proper #literature. I had a very hard time grasping imagery, and anything over ten pages was torture to read. It wasn’t until I began reading #comics that I actually began to enjoy reading in general. Once I hit the age of ten, however, things finally clicked for me and I began to enjoy proper literature too, but I still hated reading chapters over ten pages long. Hmm... I wonder if ten pages and the age of ten correlate somehow... Anyway, as a writer at 39, I understand why sometimes there is a need for lengthy chapters, but I still find them to be a chore. So, to combat this feeling in my own writing, I’ve taken up breaking chapters into parts so that reading isn’t a chore for my mind. And I try to keep each part under ten pages, if I can help it. So far, it’s working to combat my ADHD-riddled mind, and I hope it helps others with this affliction when this book I’m still editing gets published.

As of today, I'm still working on the edits to the first chapter of a book I began in 2008, and finished the first draft of in 2015. Why? Because my OCD and ADHD are always in the way, lol! Well, in all honesty it's because I felt a couple sections were glossed over, so I fleshed them up a bit. May need to divide this chapter into two now, too. Oh well, at least I'm moving the story forward now. #ILoveWritingFiction #WritingCommunity

Fifteen chapters edited and polished for submission to a publisher in fifteen weeks. Can it be done with my OCD and ADHD crutches firmly holding strong? Fifteen-years of working on this book says hell no, but I'm bound, pun intended 😉😂, and determined to make it happen in 2023! Five of twenty-four pages are done for the manuscript of chapter one. Nineteen more to get done by Saturday. Lord, I hope I don't implode, lol!

Just my personal observation. I find it to be quite beneficial when I'm #writing to take an extended break when I'm having difficulty conveying the kinds of storytelling I personally find satisfying. I'm definitely digging my short horror story much more now that I've taken a week off.
