Checking htop on #footiMac after two weeks of operations with its upgraded resources, and new responsibilities.

It is still far more responsive in all respects. Changes I've noticed:
1) very few web response delays for Mastodon retrieving posts/notifications or uploading pictures/videos.
2) when I logged in remotely before it would take a few seconds. Now it is nearly instant.
3) according to htop the loads are below 0.70 most of the time.
4) RAM usage has gone from 3.2GB (84%) to 6.3GB (40%)

Resources before: 4GB RAM - Dual-core i5 - 1TB HDD
After: 16GB RAM - Dual-core i5 - 1TB SSD.

I believe the last file has been copied! Upgrade and Migration was a Success!
One thing that sort of saved me was that I initially tried to plug the two drives into a dock and use dd to clone them. Well, it was very slow (hours). So I gave up part way. But it actually helped cuz it had already copied over the GRUB loader onto the new SSD. That helped me boot from a Debian net-install USB stick. I learned some GRUB commands. I noticed that the back panel of the #iMac G5 wasn't quite on properly (must have been like this since I got it), so opened it up to fit it more snugly.

But a nasty surprise was waiting inside for me...

my first ever experience with a #Macintosh what is in the late 1990s Eden Internet café in San Luis Obispo California. it wasn't all #Mac. café with the second generation #iMac sporting the full rainbow complement of available colors. I always steered away from my least favorite colors to my most favorite colors, because I wanted to be seen wiling the Internet away with an awesomely cool computer.
