あ、お金は送ってないけど、なにか #Vivaldi に問題あったりした時の自分のプラン B は #Mozilla 系だな。

#Firefox はコンテナータブが神なので、マルチアカウントログインできないようなサービス（Teams とか）にはメインで使ってるし、#Vivaldi のメール・カレンダーは #IMAP #CalDAV ベースだから #Thunderbird にもほぼ同じ環境が再現できるようになってるし。

扱ってるデータフォーマットがオープンであれば何かしら代替手段はあるという点では、心理的な安心感はある（とはいえ Vivaldi の Google 連携はもうちょっと安定してほしい気持ちはある

I'd like much better #search #functions in my #SMS apps rather than syncing it to my #IMAP server and using Thunderbird (meh) or Perl / #RegEx from #BASH to find something important from a non-regular sender six months ago that is suddenly necessary again.

I'm moving my email hosting over to migadu.
Where can I find a guide on how to backup the entire imap from my current provider, to be able to restore it on the new? Preferably through scripting as I need to move over more than two accounts.

Meh. Next question for the #LazyWeb (or possibly the #LazyPachyderm): is there 𝘆𝗲𝘁 a reasonable #FOSS #Linux #imap #server package? The last time I looked (years ago), they all appeared to be pretty much crap, and even worse in some respects than GMail's semi-compliant implementation..

@ShaunKL Proton Mail does NOT offer #IMAP support, and neither does Tutanota. This is because IMAP doesn't offer end-to-end encryption, which is a feature that both of these services offer.

Consider where your data is. If your #email is in an internet #imap store (most mailboxes are), log into it with a desktop client like Outlook or #thunderbird and download/export a copy. If all your files and photos are in #OneDrive, #dropbox #icloud #googledrive etc, sync the lot to your PC and back up your PC onto an encrypted USB hard drive. Do it regularly.

@sindarina Problem is just that even I as Senior Linux Admin haven't heard of #JAMP nor any application that supports it.

OFC that's a #ChickenAndEggProblem: Noone's gonna implement it cuz "#IMAP & #SMTP are good enough" and "noone demands JAMP support".

OFC doing #eMail like some #JSON query is lean, and I don't doubt it.

I'm curious to learn if there are any real world usecases to have #email devices / clients in a mixed configuration, meaning some check for mail with #imap and other clients check the same mail account with #POP3. Also a good thing to test polling with Mastodon :-)

@pooza やっぱそうですよね。弊社ではPOP3運用なんですが、最近試験的にIMAPを導入したら送受信が遅いというクレームがあったんで見てみたら受信ボックスで全部フォルダ分けされてて、ずっとPOP3使ってたらまあそうしますよね…という事例があったので。

J'utilise Thunderbird comme client mail sur desktop et K9mail sur mobile. Je me demandais si il y avait un moyen de synchroniser ses filtres "sieve" via le serveur imap de Infomaniak et/ou Gandi. Afin que les filtres soient partout quelque soit le client.

Habe mal eine Frage zu #Thunderbird, #imap und #infosec: kann man 2FA (speziell TOTPs aber zur Not auch was anderes) des Emailproviders auch mit Thunderbird nutzen (Webmail ist ja eher so meh)? Habe das mal versucht, aber nicht hinbekommen. Geht das, hat wer einen Link zu einer Anleitung?
