@dmnelson thanks so much, man. iMazing worked. Had a bit of trouble setting it up at first as it takes a long time to first back up from an iPhone/iPad before it's able to extract the Messages but I got it to work running it against my iPad while I was out and I'm able to view a full thread now from 2015-2023. The export automatically prepares TXT, CSV, XLSX, and PDF. Pretty impressive. Thanks again.

I also use #iMazing, although it's a twitchy app that often just stops backing up automatically. Fortunately, it warns you when there hasn't been a backup for awhile.
