I just (finally!) read Trung Le Nguyen’s 2020 graphic novel The Magic Fish and oh wow it’s just lovely. A really beautiful story about the risks and rewards of pursuing a better life – as immigrants, queer kids, parents, and children. It’s poignant, a little scary, and wonderfully hopeful.
