Didn’t win anything except a pot of paint at the 40K tournament.

But I did meet up with a guy from the discord to trade my unbuilt Baneblade kit for his assembled and primed Stormhammer. It’s a Forgeworld variant that is now legendary, but my guard are mostly for fun matches anyway. So I couldn’t say no to 8 lascannons and even bigger guns.

I think I got a good deal.

I’ve just finished tweaking this Leman Russ proxy, inspired by the very original model released for Epic back in the 80s. It’s designed to be easy to print in FDM (no supports required for printing), the one pictured was printed on a stock Ender 3.

I’m fairly happy with how this one turned out, I’ve a little bit of tidying up to do, but hope to have the model up on Cults3D next week.

I want to post about gaming more, but due to a lot of circumstances I haven’t gamed in a month.

So the closest I’ve come is painting minis. I’m working on getting my first thousand points of Imperial Guard painted. Just need to finish a commissar and a chimera.

Then I’ll circle back and finish my Harlequins.

But seriously, I buy any female imperial guard models they make because I like to encourage GW to continue adding gender diversity to the game. But I do wish more would be added to the regular line instead of these limited releases.

General Creed is great, but I could use more women instead of yet another marine lieutenant.

I forgot to include my Basilisk, which also needs painting.

I also feel weird including a Major, who commands an entire company, with what is at best a platoon and auxiliaries. Of course, if I don’t include her I don’t have anything I think I should for 65 points.

But it’s mostly me failing to reconcile the lore with 40ks hero hammer tendencies. People put marine captains or primarchs on the field for f-sake.

I could use my lord commissar model instead.

Had a mild panic over the last few days because I couldn’t find one of my imperial guard models. I seriously wouldn’t have noticed except this particular one was made for a character in an Only War Rpg campaign and the player passed away last year.

Found him in my Necromunda stuff, a friend was using him as a proxy when we tried to run a campaign of thar last year.

Now my platoon is back up to full strength.

has definitely had points deflation over the last few editions. I remember when a space marine with a bolter was 30 points. At some point they cut that in half (3rd?) but even though the benchmark is still a marine being 15 points, as they’ve gotten stronger and tougher everything else has dropped to compensate.

I made 1k lists for and IG.

Harlies has 20 infantry, 3 vehicles, 2 bikes.

IG has 37 infantry, 5 vehicles.

That feels like a 2k list used to.
