Do you know where New France was?
No you don't, as Catherine Desbarats and Allan Greer magisterially demonstrate in this gem of an article: https://www.erudit.org/fr/revues/haf/2011-v64-n3-4-haf0778/1017969ar/
Returning to teaching historiography of North America tomorrow, and very happy to start with this article, and the first chapters of Gilles Havard's _Histoire des Coureurs de bois_ 👌

Intro post:
Hi! I'm a PhD Researcher/environmental and resource historian based at the University of Exeter. In the past I've researched transimperial cooperation in Pacific Iron Mining, but now I am part of a funded PhD project studying corporate environmental sustainability strategies from 1880-1940. Specifically, I'm focused on the Telcon-owned gutta-percha Selborne Plantation on the Malay Peninsula from 1915 to 1940. Generally just happy to connect!
