“Stoltenberg’s remarks would probably have been classified as Russian propaganda by plutocrat-funded ‘disinformation experts’ and imperial ‘fact checkers’ if it had been said online by someone like you or me, but because it came from the head of NATO as part of a screed against the Russian president it’s been allowed to pass through without objection.”

Sayyid Qutb was influend by Abdullah Yusuf Azzam. Whereas the latter had both religious and secular education, the former was never formally instructed by any scholar about Islam. His views of Islam wee largely shaped by his hatred of the West, especially the open expression of sexuality in the West.

Qutb's brother taught classes at a university attended by Osama bin Laden, an ethnically Yemeni born in KSA who abhorred communism. Bin Laden similarly lacked formal religious instruction under a religious scholar.

Like Qutb, bin Laden shaped his own version of Islam bases on his political viewpoints.

Today in Labor History September 1, 1987: During a nonviolent protest against the illegal U.S arming of the Nicaraguan Contras, a Navy munitions train ran over anti-war protester Brian Willson, who lost both legs in the incident. But Willson continued to be an active leader in the anti-military movement. The following day, activists dismantled the train tracks in protest. Wilson was later sued by civilian members of the train crew for the "humiliation, embarrassment & emotional distress" the incident caused them. All of this occurred at the Concord Naval Weapons Station, just east of San Francisco, formerly known as Port Chicago. It was the same site where an explosion killed 322 mostly black sailors during WWII, setting off a rebellion known as the Port Chicago Mutiny.
