There are so many #impersonators on #mastodon and apparently no mechanism to take them down. Is this something that the #fediverse makes difficult? Can it be figured out? It’s a major reason I spend less time here.

How do we tell if a Mastodon account is an impersonator?
Almost every writer I follow here shows at least 4 separate accounts. Sometimes I pick the one me with the most activity - but in at least one case I think it’s still a fake.
