#NowListening to #BlowUp by the #SuzukiIsao Trio/Quartet. This is, I think, my favourite album from the #Impex #ThreeBlindMice boxset because perhaps swings the hardest.

I love the playing here & the record sounds about as good as anything I’ve heard: the natural attack of the piano, the timbre of the bass & cello, & the detail in the percussive snap of the drums.

This was mastered & cut at 45 by #TohruKotetsu who makes full use of that groove space.

@mxtthxw @crackles I’m very new to jazz & struggle with his post-Bitches Brew output (even Bitches is at the very limit of my comfort zone). But I’ve got a decent pressing of On the Corner & definitely need to dig in again - I’m working through my Miles at the mo & will add it to the play list.

@mxtthxw Agree re: Sketches. Just love it. I’m a sucker for his orchestral forays. I’ve got the #Impex pressing of his collboration with Legrande kicking around here - which is also overdue a listen.
