Our data for 5-11 December 2022 shows little sign of increases in oil-on-water, as impact of the #EU #ImportBan was initially absorbed by a drop in outbound shipments. The glut of #Russian #LNG cargoes continues as there is less demand from the EU.

The ban on seaborne oil imports from #Russia to the #EU starting on 5 December 2022 has resulted in a dramatic drop in overall #CrudeOil shipments from Russian ports. The #ImportBan and the #PriceCap successfully drove down the price of Russian crude oil.

Once the EU #ImportBan enters into force, Russia’s #CrudeOil export volumes are expected to fall. How large the reduction is depends on #Russia’s success in persuading other buyers to take the oil the #EU is not buying anymore.
