Kirin Lager Beer

To me, this is still “the” beer 😊
But I enjoy other beers, and I rarely drink this beer anymore (also not readily available in PA) đŸ€”
My father used to drink this, so, it is possible that imprinting occurred, and I am glad that I had this during our visit to Japan 😉

Drs. Griffin and Racaniello point out the measurements are only from neutralizing antibody data for , not T cell data. There are other parts of the immune response that are not considered when people freak out about imprinting. Some scientists think it’s only relevant for people who are already older or immunocompromised.

Pre- variants no more, they think will be the source of in near-term. And “” (reduced immune response from B cells) may be a thing in vitro, but how it affects actual people remains unclear

''There is in vitro that immune , which is a phenomenon in which B cell memory recall responses towards previously encountered antigen reduce the response to new antigens, may be occurring. However, based on observational epidemiological studies to date, the clinical impact remains unclear.''

"How your first brush with COVID warps your immunity.
The immune system responds more strongly to the strain of a virus that it first met, weakening response to other strains. Can this ‘imprinting’ be overcome?"

Good summary of the recent literature on immune in

Imprinting (a preferential memory response to parts of a pathogen that the immune system has seen before) may limit the effectiveness of variant-adapted booster vaccines.

New approaches including vaccines and novel adjuvants are being looked at.

However there is abundant evidence that the current to prevent hospitalisation and death.

Are you learning about in the context of debates about Covid booster strategies -- how often people at different risk levels should be boosted and with what mix of variants?

You might be interested in this piece in @TheConversationUS (by me and @martineiermann) about how may have been the key to an odd puzzle about the pandemic.
