Imprinting (a preferential memory response to parts of a pathogen that the immune system has seen before) may limit the effectiveness of variant-adapted booster vaccines.

New approaches including #mucosal vaccines and novel adjuvants are being looked at.

However there is abundant evidence that the current #VaccinesWork to prevent hospitalisation and death.
